WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONSThe Art of Living Green: Introduction to Sustainable Living This workshop will take you through inspiring and eye-opening journey through lecture, discussion, and awareness exercises that will empower you to incorporate sustainability into all aspects of your life. If you want to know what you can do today to green your home, business, and lifestyle that will make a difference (and fit within your schedule and financial capacity), this workshop will help you to define goals and clarify next steps. Topics that will be included are: Radical Recycling; Organic Agriculture (the real deal); Holy Water and How to Treat It; the Non-Toxic Home; and Energy Efficiency (it’s easier than you think!).
The Sustainable Kitchen: Cooking for Personal and Planetary Health
Breathe Easy: Creating a Non-Toxic Home from the Inside Out Experience a healthy, non-toxic life, starting from within your own home, body, and lifestyle. Topics will include indoor air quality, learning how to address the most dangerous toxins that exist in our homes and learning how to create a safe, healthy, healing home for yourself and your loved ones.
How to Live Water-Wise This workshop offers an informative, interactive, and eye-opening exploration of WATER. We will explore our existing water use and habits and learn new ways to approach how to live water-wise in Los Angeles. Topics we will address are:
Energy Efficiency: It's Easier Than You Think This workshop teaches the practice of energy consrvation in our day to day lives as an expression of our reverence for life. You will learn the ins and outs of energy conservation and appropriate energy sources for city living, as well as learn how saving energy and saving money go hand in hand. Together we will explore the relationship between our lifestyle, our personal health, and environmental health in regards to ENERGY.
Organic Backyard Gardening This is a hands-on workshop series that teaches the fundamentals of organic backyard gardening. We will cover: how to create healthy soil, bed preparation, crop rotation, companion planting, integrated pest management, permaculture design, and more! This workshop is useful for both beginners and old-time gardeners.
Composting 101: Carrot Tops, Castings, and Creative Re-Use This workshop offers a down-to-earth approach to understanding the A to Z of how to compost in your own backyard.
Through awareness exercises, writing, and group discussion, sustainability coach Deborah Tull will help us to move through and beyond the despair, anxiety, and overwhelm so many people experience about the state of the earth. We will learn tools for cultivating self-acceptance and compassionate action, which enables us to be peaceful AND powerful amidst the challenges we face.
